Abundant floristry inspired by nature
Abbey Meadow Flower Co is a studio based florist run by me, Sue, in the West Sussex countryside.
My floristry style is inspired by the colours, flowers and foliage found in the changing seasons around me and all my work is abundant, natural and a little bit wild!
I was previously a mural painter and designer before retraining as a florist which gives me an intuitive understanding of colour and a fresh, imaginative approach to floristry. I’m always open to new ideas and I’m happy to come up with something different or innovative.
I work closely with local flower farmers during the British growing season (March to October) where flowers are sustainably grown without the use of harmful pesticides and the carbon footprint is reduced.
As well as training as a florist I have worked in plant nurseries so I have an extensive knowledge of which flowers and foliage are available and I can advise you on what will be looking it’s best at the time of your event.
I’m happy to provide flowers for a simple bouquet for a wedding but similarly I am comfortable creating larger installations such as archways, suspended designs and large urns and I have fellow freelance florists to call on when I need an extra pair of hands.
My pricing band is somewhere in the middle. I’m not a low budget florist but neither would I feel happy working on an excessively lavish wedding. I’d be delighted to give a quote and there is always room for manoeuvre. I only use the best materials that are available and my arrangements are always generous.
